Abstract

Looking at the world today, information is a very vital tool that is frequently used; which also activates development. This information is powerful to the extent of bringing the seventeen (17) United Nations sustainable development goals to fruition. Surprisingly, it will not come from nowhere; reliable information comes from the library. The 21st century library produces information that will bring forth true sustainable development in all countries. This paper therefore looks at the concept of 21st century library, role of libraries in modern day, the current situation of libraries in Nigeria, brief overview of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), libraries and national development, and actualizing the SDGs through libraries.
